Chris E. Carhart
Chris E. Carhart,
is a Principal of Carhart GMS and founder of Carhart
Incorporated, a company specializing in manufacturing and
sourcing in China.
Mr. Carhart has over 25 years experience in international trade
and international commercial matters in China and Southeast
Asia. He has advised and represented U.S. and foreign clients on
commercial and customs matters involving the sale of client
products and services, and has extensive experience in
developing and implementing sales and distribution strategies,
targeting foreign markets, training foreign sales teams, and
designing and implementing cost effective supply chain and
fulfillment strategies. Mr. Carhart also is an expert in China
sourcing for cost reduction in U.S manufacturing, quality
control in Chinese manufacturing, manufacturing in China
generally.
Prior to forming Carhart Incorporated, Mr. Carhart was Vice
President of Operations for the automotive products group of
Avnet Incorporated. His responsibilities included operations in
the United States,
Canada
and Mexico.
Mr. Carhart studied Industrial Engineering and Process at
Clarkson
University
with emphasis on mechanical and electrical engineering.
Martin Lewin
With his varied experience as a US Government official, an
attorney in private practice, a business consultant and sales
representative, Martin Lewin provides his clients a unique
perspective for evaluating the opportunities and risks of doing
business in China and for addressing the issues that arise in
implementing a
China
marketing strategy. Mr. Lewin has been active in China since 1990, working with his
clients in products ranging from industrial and environmental
equipment, to apparel, chemicals, agricultural products and
fabricated metal products.
Mr. Lewin is a Principal of Carhart GMS and a Partner in Kalik
Lewin, an entrepreneurial law firm assisting U.S. and foreign
clients both domestically and abroad in commercial and
technology matters, including finance.
Previously, Mr. Lewin served as an advisor to Paula Stern,
former Chair of the U.S. International Trade Commission, and as
a staff member of the Subcommittee on International
Organizations of the House of Representatives International
Relations Committee.
Mr. Lewin received a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Economics from the
Wharton
School,
University of
Pennsylvania,
and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Pennsylvania
Law School.
